P-Con Short Story Competition Guidelines
The competition is open to members and non-members of P-Con 7.
People can submit as many stories as they wish to the competition.
Entries should be written in English.
There is no set theme, but given the genre focus of P-Con each story should contain some element of Fantasy, Horror or Science Fiction.
Stories may be submitted electronically by email to pconshortstory(at)gmail(dot)com
Manuscripts can be in Mircosoft Word (“.doc”), Rich Text Format (“.rtf”) or Open Office.
Printed manuscripts may be submitted to P-Con Short Story Competition, c/o 6 Weston Avenue, Weston Park, Lucan, County Dublin.
Each story should have a title page detailing your name; e-mail address; story title; approximate word count.
Text should be double spaced.
Each page should be numbered and contain the title of your story.
Your name should only appear on the title page.
Entry to the competition is free to signed up members of P-Con 7 (Full; Student; Supporting).
Non-members are requested to donate five euros per story entered.
Payment, where due, can be made to PayPal account, pgmcclean(at)gmail(dot)com , or by sending a cheque, made payable to Peter McClean, to P-Con Short Story Competition, c/o 6 Weston Avenue, Weston Park, Lucan, County Dublin. (When making payment by PayPal remember to identify it as a short story entry donation.)
Stories should be no longer than five thousand words.
Entries must be entirely your own work and never previously published or broadcast, online or offline.
The closing date for receipt of entries is Sunday, 31st January, 2010.
Apart from sending an e-mail to acknowledge receipt of a manuscript we will not enter into any correspondence about entries or results.
We cannot provide any feedback on individual entries.
The winner and runner up will be announced on Sunday, 7th March, 2010 during the Closing Ceremony of P-Con 7.
Worldwide copyright on each entry remains with its author.
