Brian makes his acceptance speech
At a meeting of the Dracula Society in London in early November, Brian J. Showers was presented with The Children of the Night Award, 2008, for his book of ghost stories, “The Bleeding Horse and other Ghost Stories” (published by Mercier Press).
Brian’s competition was stiff with the other short listed works being, The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman and The Séance by John Harwood.
The Children of the Night Award is awarded by The Dracula Society on an annual basis. Nominations are invited each January for the best piece of literature published in the Gothic (including horror or supernatural) genre - novel, short story, or biography - for the previous year.
